Safer passage between Střešovice and Petřiny districts
In the autumn 2009, new cycle lanes and cycle –pikto- corridors were built in Střešovická and Na Petřinách streets.

New bicycle lanes and cycle-picto-corridors have been built in autumn 2009 in Prague 6 in Střešovická and Na Petřinách streets. They were built in both ways between Patočkova and Veleslavínská streets (see the area in the dynamic map). The line of Střešovická and Na Petřinách streets has always served as direct and smooth transport connection of the city centre and Petřiny district – traditionally for automobile and tram transport but thanks to the favourable elevation also attractive for bicyclists. A wide-enough road enabled a quality application of the so called integrating measures for bicycle transport without the need of building costly cycle paths.

The integrating measures have been realized in both ways along the whole 2.1 km long section of the road.
The pictograms have been drawn using different technologies, which will be later evaluated as to their durability and price.

New cycle-picto-corridors are also planned in Na Petřinách street (within the framework of construction of the new metro station) and potentially at the transport junction at Patočkova x Střešovická crossroads to provide for direct connection to the city centre by the existing bicycle path towards Jelení street.
By the end of the year 2009, almost 23 km of bicycle lanes and more then 11 km of cycle-picto-corridors have been marked in Prague. For more details see the statistical information on the cycle infrastructure in Prague (in Czech).
